Puerto Madryn, Argentina has a deep water bay on the Atlantic Ocean. The city is a popular summer destination because of its beautiful beaches. Punta del Este, Uruguay-Beautiful beach resort town!  The Monaco of South America

Punta del Este is a beach resort town in Uruguay complete with casinos, beaches, yachts and lots of tourists.

Puta del Este is know for its beaches, surfing, beautiful people and an ardent night scene. There are many travel sights, including the amazing restaurants.

A famous land mark and beach is 'La playa de los Dedos" (The finger beach). The Chilean artist Mario Irarrazabal was inspired to make a sculpture of a hand "drowning" as a warning to swimmers, as the waters at La Barra up the beach had rougher waves.

A wonderful place to visit is Casa-Pueblo. It is a beautiful resort-museum near Punta del Este. It was created by Uruguayan artist Paea-Vlaro in a kind of Mediterranean surrealist architecture, making the whole place look like a giant sculpture.

Punta del Este is a very important tourist port. The upper crust has its yachts there and if you want to rent a boat, this is the place! Punta Del Este is a beautiful town in a magnificent setting, a perfect place to simply relax and enjoy.

This town is filled with wonderful cafes and shops. The harbor is bustling with fancy pleasure crafts and sturdy fishing boats. It would be a wonderful place to stroll with a cool drink. There is live music and entertaining street performers.

Montevideo, Uruguay- Vibrant, Eclectic City with a rich cultural life.

Montevideo is the largest city, the capital, and chief port of Uruguay. Described as a "vibrant, eclectic place with a rich cultural life.  This is one of my favorite photos.  Emilia Garassino took a terrific photo.  

Tourism accounts for much of Uruguay's economy. This city has several museums, art galleries, nightclubs. The "Old City" has a classic and inviting European charm and elegance.

As the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo is home to a number of festivals and carnivals.

The city of Montevideo offers broad boulevards, peaceful parks, and refreshing fountain, stately plaza and imposing monuments dedicated to respected national heroes.

The busy harbor attest to the fact that Montevideo remains Uruguay's primary port. However, it is the well deserved reputation of the warmth of her people that makes Montevideo one of the nicest cities in all of South America.
