PORTS OF CALL AWAIT!

Exciting ports of call!

Every cruise is an adventure with lot's of new places to explore!  There are Shore Excursions for every type of person.  If you are in good health take the opportunity to do things you can not do at home.   Go on a hike in the Rain Forest or canoeing in Alaska.  Explore caves on an island in the Caribbean.  You could have the opportunity to zip-line through a forest in Alaska or in the jungle forest of Costa Rica.  Your cruise will offer you many such adventures through ship-sponsored shore excursions.

For the less active take a tour by bus of your favorite Port of Call.  You might take a train trip in Skagway, Alaska.  One of my favorite shore-excursion is the White Pass & Yukon Railroad Trip.  You travel by a narrow gauge railway up through the mountains into the Yukon.  It is a beautiful scenic ride with stories of gold seekers as you travel to the top of the White Pass Summit.  In places like Barcelona or Rome the cruise sponsored shore excursions can be the safest and most informative way to immerse your self in culture and history.

You may choose to explore on your own the many exciting places your cruise ship takes you to.  Just remember to be back to the ship on time.  If you go on a ship-sponsored excursion they will have you back to the ship in plenty of time.  But on your own you have to watch the time because your ship will sail without you if you are late!

Some of my favorite Shore-excursions are:

Alaska – White Pass & Yukon Railroad Trip
                  Helicopter ride to Mendenhall Glacier

Caribbean – The Banana Bus Tour and Explore Aruba Tour
We were able to explore a cave too!

Norway – Rail and Coach to Flam in Vic, Norway.  There is amazing beauty in Norway to be seen everywhere!
There was also a fabulous tour to North Cape!  Which is the northernmost point on the European Continent.

Australia and New Zealand – Sidney Aquarium is wonderful along with the famous Sydney Opera House.   Bonorong Wildlife Park was a great place to see Kangaroos, Wallabies and a Koala Bear up close!  In New Zealand the Taieri Gorge train took me to the Larnach Castle.   It was beautiful!
Wellington, New Zealand also has a terrific Museum.

There is a world to see out there!  Get going and see it.
