The city of Punta Arenas is a hub for many cruise ships that travel along the channels and fjords of the region. This city is also a jumping-off point for many Antarctic expeditions. |

An interesting sight to see in Punta Arenas is a full size replicas of the Nao Victoria. This ship was the first ship to successfully circumnavigate the world. The replica of the Nao Victoria was opened in October 2011 as a museum. |

This city is built around its main square "Plaza de Armas" where the imposing monument of Hernando de Magallanes is located. According to local legend if a tourist touches his foot it will return once again to the city. |
