Bay of Islands-Far North of the North Islands of New Zealand

Bay of Islands-Far North of the North Islands of New Zealand

The Bay of Islands is renowned internationally for its big-game fishing. If adventure is what you are seeking there are opportunities to parasail, scuba dive or kayak. For the less adventurous there are also plenty of cafe's and shopping or you might visit the local wineries.

Bay of Islands is one of the most popular fishing, sailing and tourist destinations in the country. In a 2006 study, the Bay of Islands was found to have the second bluest sky in the world, after
Rio de Janeiro.

The Bay has many interesting historic towns you might visit. Kerikeri on the northeastern arm of the Bay of Islands contains historic sites from the earliest European Colonial settlement in the country. It is also where the fresh water of the Kerikeri river enters the salty Pacific Ocean.

The Bay of Islands in New Zealand is a perfect place to take a shore excursion to see the Dolphins and other wildlife.
