Istanbul, Turkey-Constantinope

Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and strategically located on the historic Silk Road.

One of my favorite places to visit in Istanbul was the Basilica cistern, built under the city of Istanbul by the Romans.

Historic sites of Istanbul include the Blue Mosque and the square with the obelisk on it. There is also a museum of Islamic art close by. There is lot's to see in this historic city, so bring your camera.

The Grand-Bazaar filled with shops is also a must see! This historic bazaar is full of interesting items from spices to beautiful rugs, jewelry and pottery.

The Ortakoy Mosque is an historic mosque along the Bosphorus. I enjoyed a boat ride along the Bosphorus. It was very beautiful.

The Topkapi Palace is an interesting place to visit. A Museum full of history. The Topkapi Palace was the main residence of the sultan and his court.

Haghia Sophia and the Topkapi Museum is also an interesting place to visit in this historic city. There is a lovely garden surrounding the area.  What a fantastic place to visit on a Celebrity Cruise!
