Messina, Sicily
The third largest city on the island of Sicily, Messina welcomes cruise ship visitors with its lovely harbor, extraordinary architecture (much of which miraculously survived a horrendous earthquake and tidal wave in 1908) and wonderful food.

| Close to Messina, Sicily is the beautiful town of Taormina whose location overlooks the Ionian Sea and has attracted visitors for more than 20 centuries. A visit there would include a walk through the impressive Greek Theater. |

| Taormina is a lovely town to enjoy shops and views of Mt. Etna. You might even want to visit some of the local wineries. |

| Port of Call Messina, Sicily - A favorite shore excursion that I went on was to a beautiful Winery where we sampled the wine and enjoyed a lovely lunch with breathtaking views of the vineyard and Mt. Etna. |
