The colorful history of Florence dates back to the ancient Etruscans. Stroll from piazza to piazza and learn the city's history through architecture. Bring your camera for some fantastic photo opportunities as you enjoy this beautiful city.

Florence was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Politically, economically, and culturally it was the most important city in Europe for around 250 years. The cathedral topped by Brunelleschi's dome is the third largest Christian church and dominates the skyline.

The city of Florence offers lot's of terrific shopping. You will find a variety of leather goods, florentine paper, pottery, jewelry and art throughout this city. Enjoy a lovely lunch at one of the outdoor cafe's or a sweet treat like Pane del Pescatore (biscotti like cookie) called "bread of the fisherman". Don't forget to sample some Italian Gelato too!:)

Most of the major tourist sights in Florence are within easy walking distance of each other. It is possible to walk from one end of the historic center of Florence to the other - North-South or East-West in a half hour. Walking is not only an easy way to get around, it also offers the chance to 'take in' much more of the city life.
